RISIMATI MATHYE

Senior Pastor

Dr Risimati Mathye is a professional registered Civil Engineer.  He is in possession of a National Diploma in Civil Engineering, B Tech Degree in Civil Engineering: Urban Planning and Design, BSC (Honours): Engineering & Management Technology, as well as Master of Technology: Civil Engineering with University of Johannesburg.  He further holds a Master’s Degree in Business Leadership (MBA) with UNISA.  He also has PHD: Civil Engineering with University of Johannesburg, under Integrated Water Resource Management. He also possesses other Certificates in Municipal Management Programme about Municipal Governance as well as Advanced Project Management Certificate with University of Cape Town.

Dr Risimati Mathye has for the past 20 and half years spent his time in the Civil Engineering space doing engineering Design, Construction Management, Operations & Maintenance, Project Management at various Senior and Executive Management level within the Local Government Sector. He has exposure and experience in Legislative Framework, expertise and understanding of service deliver strategies and corporate planning in a public sector space. 

He possesses with him an understanding of the financial institutional legislatives prescripts within the application of PFMA and MFMA, Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliances, target setting within the related deliverables in a business unit setting.  For the past 15 years within, he has been involved in Business Plan Development, IDP, SDF, WSDP. WCWDM. Productivity Study, People Management, Change Management, Financial Management, Leadership & Governance, Service Delivery Innovative with monitoring and evaluation.

From June 2022, Dr Risimati Mathye was appointed as a Deputy Director General for Water & Sanitation Services Management Branch within the National Department of Water and Sanitation. He is responsible for providing leadership for long term sustainable provisioning of sector-wide water supply and sanitation services provision in South Africa in alignment to Sustainable Development Goals, (SDG) 6 vision 2030 and NDP 2030 as mandated by South Africa.

Finally, Dr Risimati Mathye is an academic researcher and a publisher with multiple international citations. He is a former academic moderator with UNISA and UJ and former member Operation Vulindlela set-up by the President. Finally, Dr Risimati Mathye is a former committee member of the Water Engineering Division (WED) with SAICE and asked to be relieved of this duties following his appointment as DDG at the Department of Water and Sanitation in 2022.
